RESTORATIVE YOGA & MEDITATION - FRIDAY 1ST DECEMBER

This monthly class is designed to help you unwind from your week leaving you feeling calm, focused and light hearted to enjoy your weekend ahead.  We begin with breath work (pranayama) to assist you with grounding yourself and releasing the stresses of your week from your mind.

We then perform a series of restorative yoga postures that will release tension from the muscles and joints. As the name suggests these postures will be very gentle, we use props such as bolsters and blocks leaving the posture easy to perform.

We conclude with a guided meditation. This month, we will learn a meditation designed to help you ground yourself. It is incredibly important to be centered and grounded in your own energy as we come into contact with many peoples energy throughout the festive season. This allows you to be in your own energy, your own goodness and your own space as you interact with the world around you.

YIN YOGA FROM HEAD TO TOE - SUNDAY 3RD DECEMBER

As you all know I'm a firm believer in the Yin style of yoga, it teaches us to slow down and reconnect with ourselves all the while targeting those hard to reach connective tissues. This workshop will take you through a yin sequence that will target your whole body - head to toe focusing on the most common 'problem' areas - the neck, lower back, hips and hamstrings.

Unlike more dynamic types of yoga — like Bikram, Vinyasa or Ashtanga — that develop stamina and strength in the muscles and joints, Yin yoga is comprised of seated or lying down postures. This slower practice emphasizes work on the tendons, ligaments and fascia of the hips, legs and lower back. It allows for a deep release of tension, improved circulation and greater flexibility.

Although the pace is gentle and slow, don't be fooled! Yin is seriously good at high-lighting our tight spots. Then by connecting to the breath we release them.

We will conclude with a half hour relaxation so you leave with not only an open body but an open and peaceful mind, a feeling of all tension & stress melted away.

RECLAIM YOUR GLOW WITH VINYASA FLOW - FRIDAY 29TH DECEMBER

Life is all about balance! I love yoga and I love mashed potatoes and my mums homemade apple sponge cake! I don't believe in feeling guilty for being a little indulgent from time to time. I believe our yoga practice should be a place of refuge, a ceasefire zone for feeling bad about our bodies. I also believe we should respect our bodies and if we indulge, then gently bring it back to balance which is what this workshop is all about.

We can feel a little sluggish after eating and drinking all the yummy things that we probably don't have 80% of the time. The postures in this workshop will help to relieve gas, bloating and will kick fire the digestive system again. We will conclude with a guided relaxation followed by a cup of Ayurvedic tea and a catch up.

Namaste, Shirlí
