Escape Your Stress Course

Stress!  The origin of so many ailments in today's Western society, from non life threatening psoriasis to actual life threatening heart failure. 

It effects our physical bodies, commonly causing headaches, chest pain, fatigue, change in sex drive, stomach upset and sleeping problems.  It effects our minds, causing anxiety, restlessness, lack of motivation, irritability or anger, sadness or depression.  And it also effects our behaviour resulting in overeating or undereating, angry outbursts, drug or alcohol abuse, tobacco use and often social withdrawal. 

We can all suffer stress from time to time, in the short term this is not a problem.  But severe stress, allowed to go unchecked in the longer term will most certainly result in degenerating health.   

The aim of this course is to provide you with the skills required to detect stress, minimise stress before it gets a hold on you and also ways to fight stress that already has you in it's grip.  The course will include information from Dr.Jim White who has studied extensively on the subject, mindfulness relaxation techniques and yoga breathing skills.   It will be run both mornings and evenings to accomodate everyone and you may change your session from morning to evening or vice versa on a weekly basis to suit your schedule.   

 

Dates:  Wednesday 11th March - Wednesday 1st April

Time:   Morning session 11am-12pm,  Evening session 7pm-8pm

Venue: Creative Spark, Muirhevnamor (behind the Dunnes Stores on the Coes road, just past the Crown Plaza)

Cost:    €50 per person for entire course
